A new adventure for Mid East Racing this season is a short 3 race winter series program. There was enough input and interest from regular Mid East followers that Buren put together a winter series with a race the first weekends in December, January and February. Unlike Mid East's regular one day program, these winter series races will be split into 2 day events with quads running on Saturday and bikes on Sunday.

The first race kicked off in York, SC at Jim Plummer's place, Plummer's Rock. This was a first time event on this property and it held a very unique characteristic, a starting grid on a big rock. That's right, a big rock! One of the coolest things I have seen at any hare scramble.

The day started off on the wrong foot with rain in the forecast all day and temps hanging at 48. I think this kept a lot of racers away and thus made for a small crowd of 42 quads. The youth quads hit the woods first and then big boys started at 1:00PM. Looked like everyone was very pleased with the track and had a good time.

We had some Sunday home duties to take care of so we were not able to head back for Sunday's bikes race. You can check out some photos from Saturday in the Photo Gallery HERE.
