South of The Border Weekend Wrap Up

Spent the weekend of September 20-21 down in Hamer, SC at American's favorite highway oasis, South of The Border, where they just happen to have a top notch MX training facility called SOBMX.

Festivities for the weekend included Victory Sports Racing Ultra Series and Mega Series rounds as well as this event being labeled as the SC State Championship. The crew at SOBMX had been in the stages of changing a few sections to the track since our last event here back in March. Track was in great shape and offered some really good racing on Sunday.

Practice day was Saturday and the weather was a little overcast with temps in the low 80's and a good breeze keeping things cool all day. Once practice was over we headed over to Reptile Lagoon which is labeled as the largest indoor reptile exhibit in the U.S. and has all kinds of snakes, crocodiles, alligators, turtles and a few things I had never seen before. It's a very cool exhibit and a great way to knock some time off the clock before dinner. I have to say that I was taken back by one animal, the King Cobra, 18.5 feet long and thick. Had no idea they got that big.

Luckily for us we are fortunate to have some really talented young riders coming out of the Southeast and many were at SOBMX. Just a few were Garrett Marchbanks, Rush Chapman, Luke Neese, Kyler Rhom, Bennett Mantooth and a few for the Pro Class with Marshal Weltin, Cody Gragg, Ryan Zimmer and Phil Nicoletti. Cooper Webb stopped by to chat with few fellows and watch some racing. All in all, a great weekend and thanks to all those that stopped by the booth to chat, catch up, let the gossip fly, release frustrations and pick up some of our product line, all of which is greatly appreciated.
